Training and Education lie at the heart of what the Organic Centre is all about.
Over the last 20 years we have developed an un-rivalled weekend short course programme.
The courses, delivered by our expert lecturers, cover an impressive array of subjects from organic gardening, leading edge health and well-being, cooking and artisan food making, to green arts and crafts and back again.
Just like our gardens, there are always some surprises thrown in! We also offer training in community and school venues. Training for communities can be tailored to the needs of the group. Organic gardening is a popular choice and we are equally equipped to train in composting, Polytunnel gardening or specific choices from the weekend course programme itself.
Our work with schools is nationwide and delivered in both the South and the North. In addition to organic gardening, we are able to offer workshops in sustainable energy free of charge to primary and secondary schools. We are an official Discover Primary Science and Maths Centre and a member of the Heritage in Schools programme.
The Organic Centre runs a highly respected FETAC Level 5 course in Horticulture sponsored by MSLETB. Potential applicants are advised to enquire in the autumn about entry in spring of the following year. 15 full-time places are available.
