The Complete Organic Garden Course 2012- Revised
The best course to successful organic gardening. From February to June participants will be working and learning in their own garden plot and sharing space in a polytunnel growing a range of vegetables and kitchen herbs. Expertly guided by Ingrid Foley and Organic Centre staff they will also benefit from seeing the Spring / Summer season unfold in the Organic Centre gardens. Each course day can also be booked individually, but a discount applies when all five are booked together. Book early!
Day 1 (CGL1), Saturday February 11 2012:
Introduction to the Centre, tour of the gardens, crop planning, rotation, ground preparation, lazy beds, demonstration of tools.
Day 2 (CGL2), Saturday March 10 2012:
Soils, soil fertility management, composting, sowing in the polytunnels and outside garden.
Day 3 (CGL3), Saturday April 21 2012:
Growing in polytunnels, (site selection, erection, crops and rotation), bed preparations and sowings in outside course garden.
Day 4 (CGL4), Saturday May 5 2012:
Pest and disease control, pricking out, planting, sowing in garden and polytunnel.
Day 5 (CGL5), Saturday June 23 2012:
Weed management, green manures and salad crops. Includes short preserving session.
