Natural Beekeeping for the Complete Beginner

If you've ever been interested in learning more about bees, or are thinking about keeping some hives yourself, this one day course will give you an insight into the life and work of bees and beekeepers throughout the seasons.  This course will introduce honeybee lifecycles and behaviour, history of beekeeping, equipment, feeding, diseases, harvesting and processing wax and honey.  We will start with conventional approaches to beekeeping, but the day will have a strong focus on alternative "natural" beekeeping methods which may offer some help with the health problems bees are currently facing worldwide. 

Includes a visit to Carraig Dúlra's apiary. Depending on weather and time of year, we may work with the bees.  So if you have a veil, beesuit and wellies, please bring them along.
