Programme for 7th Organic Fair and NW Food Fest

The North West Food Fest has grown out of the enthusiasm of local growers, farmers, shopkeepers,and restarateurs who are passionate about the food created in the region. The week will highlight the gastronomic delights in the area from plant to plate and farm to fork.

In September:

Sat. 8th Discover Wild Herbs - Walk and Talk with Joerg Mueller

Sun 9th The Seventh Organic Fair at The Organic Centre. This year the Organic Fair will open the North West Food Fest. A day for all the family featuring organic and local food, green crafts, organic clothes, guided tours and demonstrations around the Centre gardens, children's events, music and a fantastic menu in the Grass Roof Café

Mon 10th & Tues 11th A special day for kids on the Organic Centre's schools programme featuring healthy school lunch boxes.

Wed 12th Women's Day with demonstrations, walks and talks and much more. An event in conjunction with the North Leitrim Women's resource Group and women's initiatives from Fermanagh

Thurs 13th Harvest Celebration of 12 Community Gardens from the COmmunity Food Project and Building Peace through our Shared Environment

Fri 14th Seminar: What are the Ingredients of a local food culture? To be Confirmed

Sat 15th Foraging for Free - one day course at the Organic Centre with Barbara Smith, 10.00am - 5.00pm

Sun 16th Raw Food menu available with regular menu at the Grass Roof Café.

The Organic Centre is delighted to acknowledge the promotion of Irish produce by other organisations like St. Angela's College, The Food Hub, The Greenbox and the Western Organic Network, and supports The Harvest Feast in Drumshanbo on Sat Sept 8th.
