19.5 hours per week

Wednesday – Friday

Temporary Contract – to 31st December 2022

 

The Organic Centre is seeking a candidate who is flexible, ambitious and target-driven to work as part of our team to develop our online and on-site Eco shop. The successful candidate will work in our onsite shop in Rossinver, County Leitrim. Previous experience of a similar customer facing is essential, the role will also be supported through a programme of training and induction to ensure that the successful candidate is ready to provide the best possible service to all our customers.

The Organic Centre is based in County Leitrim and the successful candidate will be based at our 19-acre site in Rossinver. The purpose of the role is to support people to shop, learn and get involved in organic growing, farming and education.

Sales Associate (General) Part time- Job share

JOB DESCRIPTION

ORGANIC CENTRE SALES TEAM

· To service customers, deal with phone calls, ensure excellent customer care and create a welcoming environment in the shop/café – front of house area at all times

· To liaise with suppliers and deal with deliveries as required, to deal with outgoing and incoming post, ensure franking machine maintained.

· To keep records of purchases, sales and stock-taking, and to keep computer records required by relevant procedures.

· To research and order new products to sell in keeping with the ethos of the Centre.

· To process mail order and online sales orders i.e. packing, posting, invoicing and payments.

· To explore and develop opportunities to increase sales and profits within the Sales department.

· To be welcoming and helpful to visitors and tour groups and brief them on the Centre’s facilities.

· Ensure shop, reception area, toilets and outside display area are kept clean and tidy, and dispose of waste in line with the Centre’s waste disposal system.

· To be alert to any threat to the security of the Centre or its assets.

· To attend meetings as required by management.

· To be willing to undertake training as needed.

· To observe the Centre’s Health and Safety rules.

· To use appropriate marketing skills to promote the work of the Centre, and have awareness of customer buying needs and trends.

· To liaise and negotiate with suppliers to ensure maximum profitability and quality of goods sold.

· To ensure Customer care policies are upheld and Customer complaints dealt with to a satisfactory conclusion.

· To advise Customers on current products as required.

· To process payments for online and mail order sales i.e. cheques, Paypal.

· To follow procedures for recording and securing cash at the end of the day, and reconcile till float and takings.

· Upkeep of online sales page/ including updating stock as required

· Work with the Finance department to ensure that they are updated in relation to changes in the sales/sales equipment/technology

· Work with providers such as EPSO & Payment Sense to ensure up to date processes/maintain systems and provide accurate information to the Finance Dept.

· Stocktaking

· Job share working with other staff members and working as part of the sales team

· Updating Social media in relation to sales in consultation with the General Manager

· Other duties as required by the organisation and as directed by the General Manager

· Ensure/increase distribution of promotional materials including the annual Course/Seed booklet

· Other duties as required by the Manager/organisation
