About The Organic Centre: 

The Organic Centre is a charity based in Rossinver, Co. Leitrim. Established in 1995 and working on 19 acres, we aim to promote and encourage organic growing and farming as part of a healthy lifestyle for everyone. Our eco-shop sells a wide range of certified organic seeds and plants. We grow and sell a wide range of seasonal vegetables and herbs to local cafes and restaurants and we facilitate a varied range of weekend courses throughout the year. We run a full-time accredited Organic Horticulture course which welcomes students from all around the world each year.

 

Job Description:

The Organic Centre is seeking a candidate who is flexible, ambitious and target-driven to work as the head of our sales team to develop both our online and on-site Eco shop. The successful candidate will be based in our shop in Rossinver, County Leitrim. 

While previous experience of a similar customer facing role is essential, the role will be supported through a programme of training and induction to ensure that the successful candidate is ready to provide the best possible service to all our customers.

Responsibilities:

• To service customers, deal with phone calls & ensure excellent customer care

• To liaise with suppliers and deal with deliveries as required

• To follow the companies relevant procedures and keep records of purchases, sales and stock-taking

• Work with providers such as EPOS & Payment Sense to ensure up to date processes/maintain systems and provide accurate information to the Finance Dept.

• To research and order new products to sell in keeping with the ethos of the Centre

• To process mail order and online sales orders i.e. packing, posting, invoicing and payments

• To explore and develop opportunities to increase sales and profits within the Sales department

• To be welcoming and helpful to visitors and tour groups and brief them on the Centre’s facilities

• Ensure shop, reception area, toilets and outside display area are kept clean and tidy and dispose of waste in line with the Centre’s waste disposal system

To create a welcoming environment in the front of house area at all times
• Organise the ordering, packing and distribution of The Organic Centres seeds

• To liaise and negotiate with suppliers to ensure maximum profitability and quality of goods sold

• To ensure customer care policies are upheld and customer complaints dealt with to a satisfactory conclusion.

To deal with outgoing and incoming post, ensure franking machine is maintained
• To advise customers on current products as required

• To follow the companies money handling policy

• To work closely with the Finance Department to ensure that they are updated in relation to changes in the sales/sales equipment/technology

To organise sales team rota, ensuring the shop is covered at all times
• Other duties as required by the organisation and as directed by the General Manager

Requirements:

Previous experience in customer facing sales or a similar role
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent computer skills
Proven ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of organic products and sustainable practices is a plus
A proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to use approaches including social media in a sales environment to sell produce.
