• Sourdough Day (Saturday May 9th)

A hands-on baking course introducing you to sourdough baking. Kevin will guide you step-by-step from making your own starter to successfully baking a traditional sourdough bread.  Various grains (rye, spelt, barley) will be discussed. We will mill our own flour. Participants will learn about autolysing, kneading, scoring, and multiple rises, and will learn how to troubleshoot doughs that aren't rising. Participants will take home breads made on the day, a 111 year old sourdough starter (levain), and the knowledge and confidence to bake real bread in your own kitchen – whether at home or at work.
