Lettuce (Curly) 'Lollo Rossa' is a fast growing red-brown curly lettuce with strongly incised leaves and very decorative and tender leaves. It can be used as cut-and-come-again type in a young stadium. Due to its plant type (not a real crop-type), natural enemies like ladybugs and parasitoids have more space to encounter aphids. Lettuce has a short growing period and it is therefore important to transplant the plants in a young stadium. Lettuce is at is best taste when you do not fertilize that much. If you would like to eat lettuce each week, you have to sow/plant regularly. When you put a part of the lettuce close to each other and if you harvest a little earlier than normal, you could suffice with one sowing per three to four weeks. It bolts early.
