Callistephus chinensis, commonly known as China aster or Chinese aster, is an annual plant native to China and Southern Russia. It is widely used in horticulture and comes in a variety of cultivars with colors ranging from white to pink, red, blue, violet, purple, and yellow. This cool-weather annual grows easily in rich, moist, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. The plant produces large blooms from late June through to late October and is known for its showy flowers, making it a popular choice for gardens and floral arrangements. The flowers attract bees, especially long-tongued bees, and the plant is particularly resistant to drought. It typically grows to a height of 2 to 3 feet and is suitable for container, hanging basket, cottage garden, and cutting garden landscapes. The leaves are ovate, toothed, and medium green, and the plant has one erect, mostly unbranched stem. China aster is a versatile and attractive addition to gardens, providing vibrant colors and attracting pollinators.

This packet contains a large mix of colours all with the distinctive yellow eye. Does very well in pots or beds this flower is perfect for use in bouquets or on it's own.

How to grow: Either start in trays between March and May or if preferable can be direct sown into the preferred spot in May.

 Cut flowers from July and November. Height 50cm (400 seeds)
